Trump Ends ‘12 Day War’ With a Cease-Fire—And Not a Single American Dead
The world was bracing for World War III—Trump forced Iran to the table instead.
Good Morning, it’s Tuesday, June 24th, 2025.
Well, that escalated fast… and ended even faster. President Trump announced last night that Israel and Iran have agreed to a cease-fire ending the so-called “12 Day War.” No American casualties, Iran’s nuclear facilities in ruins, and a Middle East momentarily stepping back from the brink. Once again, strength wins. Let’s dig in.

Trump announces Israel and Iran have agreed to cease-fire ending ‘12 Day War’
The “12 Day War” could’ve wrecked the entire Middle East — but it’s ending tonight.
President Trump announced Monday night that Israel and Iran had agreed in principle to a cease-fire, slated to take effect roughly six hours after his post. The deal, shared on Trump’s Truth Social, will see Iran initiate the cease-fire, followed by Israel, with an official end to hostilities marked after 24 hours.
Trump called it a “Complete and Total CEASEFIRE,” adding that, “On the assumption that everything works as it should, which it will, I would like to congratulate both Countries… This is a War that could have gone on for years, and destroyed the entire Middle East, but it didn’t, and never will.”
Vice President JD Vance echoed the sentiment on Fox News, praising the president’s leadership: “Without — knock on wood — having a single American casualty, [Trump] obliterated the Iranian nuclear program.”
There has yet to be official confirmation from either Israel or Iran, though Tehran’s symbolic rocket retaliation against U.S. forces in Qatar earlier Monday, which came with an advance warning and did little damage, points toward both sides being open to de-escalation.
The short but intense conflict began June 13, when Israeli jets pounded Iranian nuclear facilities and assassinated several of Tehran’s key nuclear and military figures. Despite initial Israeli strikes failing to fully destroy Iran’s hardened Fordow enrichment site, Trump ordered American B-2 bombers to finish the job with 30,000-pound “bunker buster” bombs in what became known as Operation Midnight Hammer.
A full damage assessment is ongoing, but the administration is already declaring victory — and for now, the region looks poised to avoid all-out war.
Iran fires missiles at US troops on bases in Qatar and Iraq
A “symbolic” strike — but a dangerous one — as Iran fires back after U.S. bombing runs.
Iran launched a limited missile barrage at U.S. military bases in Qatar and Iraq on Monday, in what CNN and Fox News described as a retaliatory — but carefully measured — response to Operation Midnight Hammer. At least six missiles reportedly targeted Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar, with one more striking a U.S. base in Iraq.
Iranian state TV confirmed the attacks, and in a telling move, Tehran had reportedly provided advance warning to Qatari officials — almost certainly an effort to avoid casualties.
Qatar’s government blasted the attack as “a flagrant violation” of its sovereignty but confirmed that no lives were lost, crediting air defenses for intercepting the incoming missiles.
The U.S. was quick to warn Iran against further escalation. Vice President JD Vance made it clear: “If they continue to support terrorism, nuclear weapons programs, then they’re going to find overwhelming American force.”
Secretary of State Marco Rubio also sounded off, warning Iran that any attempt to close the Strait of Hormuz would be “suicidal” — and would spark a global backlash.
The attack followed President Trump’s announcement of an Israel-Iran cease-fire set to take effect within hours — raising the stakes as both sides weigh their next moves in the aftermath of Trump’s massive bombing campaign on Iran’s nuclear program.
Trump tells oil producers: ‘Keep prices down’ — and markets listened
A blunt message from Trump sends oil prices dipping, even as the Iran conflict rattles energy markets.
President Trump put the global oil industry on notice Monday with an early morning post on Truth Social: “EVERYONE, KEEP OIL PRICES DOWN. I’M WATCHING! YOU’RE PLAYING RIGHT INTO THE HANDS OF THE ENEMY. DON’T DO IT!”
The message — which came just days after the U.S. bombing of three key Iranian nuclear sites — quickly rippled through markets. Oil futures dropped roughly 1%, with Brent Crude and West Texas Intermediate retreating after initial gains fueled by fears of escalating Middle East conflict.
The president’s post appeared aimed at both domestic and global producers. American oil firms have recently warned of potential output cuts, while OPEC+ members are debating production increases.
Trump doubled down with a second post: “To The Department of Energy: DRILL, BABY, DRILL!!! And I mean NOW!!!” — though U.S. oil output is set by private companies, not the federal government.
Despite tensions in the Gulf and Iran’s threats to close the Strait of Hormuz, oil markets remain surprisingly steady. Traders remain cautious, but skeptical that a full-scale disruption is imminent — for now.
CNN analyst: Trump could ‘go down as the hero’ after Iran strike
Even some of Trump’s harshest critics now admit: the strike may have changed the game.
CNN’s top law enforcement analyst John Miller is making waves with a new Wall Street Journal op-ed, arguing that President Trump’s bold move to destroy Iranian nuclear sites could cement his legacy as “the hero” who neutralized the Iran threat.
“[Trump] could come out as the hero—the hitman who delivered the kill shot to the Iran threat,” Miller wrote, noting that Trump’s strike—while derided by many Democrats and MAGA isolationists—was a military success celebrated by Israel.
Miller highlighted the International Atomic Energy Agency’s findings that Iran had blown past uranium enrichment limits and built secret underground facilities — clear signs, he argued, that Tehran was preparing to weaponize its stockpile.
And Miller wasn’t alone. Former National Security Adviser John Bolton, long one of Trump’s fiercest critics, also praised the decision, saying the President made “the right call.”
Even as critics rage, Trump’s swift action—without American casualties—has shifted the narrative. If the cease-fire holds, it won’t just be “the 12 Day War”… it could mark one of Trump’s defining moments.
