The ICE Raid Lie That Blew Up in a Democrat’s Face
When the cameras rolled, her story collapsed — and DHS brought receipts.
Good morning, it’s Saturday, December 6th, 2025. Some politicians still think they can manufacture a scandal faster than the truth can catch them. But when Rep. Adelita Grijalva tried to turn an ICE raid at a Tucson taco shop into her personal civil-rights moment, the video — her own — did the exposing. DHS finished the job.

TODAY’S TOP STORY
Democrat claims she was pepper-sprayed by ICE, but her video and DHS say otherwise
A brand new Arizona congresswoman tried to turn an ICE raid at a Tucson taco shop into her personal Selma moment, claiming agents pepper sprayed and shoved her while she bravely demanded answers. Then she posted her own video, where she looks like someone leaving brunch, not a riot line, and DHS torched the story in one paragraph.
Rep. Adelita Grijalva says roughly 40 masked agents stormed Taco Giro and blasted her and staff with pepper spray after she identified herself as a member of Congress. DHS officials say she was simply near someone who was sprayed while a mob obstructed and assaulted agents, injuring two of them.
Key quote:
“If her claims were true, this would be a medical marvel. But they’re not true. She wasn’t pepper sprayed.” – Tricia McLaughlin, DHS assistant secretary
Takeaway: Grijalva tried to make herself the victim and ended up proving how far some politicians will go to smear law enforcement at the border.
Receipts:
Grijalva claimed on social media that ICE raided Taco Giro in Tucson and that she was “pushed-aside and pepper sprayed” after identifying herself as a member of Congress.
In her own video, she casually coughs once, shows no visible effects of pepper spray, and continues speaking normally to the camera.
DHS official Tricia McLaughlin said Grijalva “wasn’t pepper sprayed” and was only in the vicinity of someone who was, while they were obstructing agents.
McLaughlin also said two ICE agents were seriously injured by the mob Grijalva joined during the operation.
DHS reminded Grijalva that “presenting one’s self as a ‘Member of Congress’ doesn’t give you the right to obstruct law enforcement.”
Why it matters: This is the border debate in miniature: Democrat lawmakers rushing to paint ICE as abusers while downplaying mobs that attack federal agents. When reality catches up on video, it exposes how much of the outrage industry is performance, not truth.
