"The Left has built its modern power structure on imported votes, bloated welfare rolls, and subsidized cheap labor."

In other words, the Left relies a great deal on human misery.

I'm in the Valley of the Sun 😎 Phoenix Arizona USA 🇺🇸 and here we have great climate pretty much year round...and I see all job fields hiring not so much on "race" as it is - can you get to job on time .. there is always needs for extra hands on the farms and in the many Hugh resorts and Casinos etc.. even roofers.. and Lawn care services.. I would say we get 50/50 knocks or calls asking to hire.. when it's a 116 degrees outside like today.. I don't think about the race or color of the human being wanting to be put to work.. God Bless them out in this weather trying to support themselves and Families... I hire as needed. First come. First hired. I usually say come back at 7-8 am when it's cooler 80-90 degrees.. and I give ice cold bottled waters to the crew . gotta stay hydrated...

I am going to show my ignorance here, but I don't have a good enough "argument" to explain to people how illegal immigration stagnates wages. I get the labor shortage argument. And it does seem that many Americans are not willing to do the work that those coming here illegally are willing to do. In my area of the country, every single roofer is of Latino descent. Every lawncare guy, every flooring installer, every hotel housekeeper, every cook in a restaurant, etc. You get the idea. Do you think that there are Americans applying for those jobs? I see Americans out of work, but they don't seem to have the humility to take a labor job or can-do attitude to do that kind of work anyway. Or is it because those jobs are given to non-Americans at a lower rate, thus preventing Americans from even applying? Like, they know the work isn't worth the pay?...Or maybe it is. I don't know. What are your thoughts on that? Anyone else can chime in. I am here to learn...but NOT be excoriated. Thank you.

Because illegal immigration leads to a surplus of workers in certain job segments, the law of supply and demand comes into play. Employers will lower wages to the point where workers still show up, then keep them there until the labor supply changes. This downward pressure on wages is particularly true for low-skilled jobs. Wage stagnation will continue as long as there is a surplus of workers willing to accept lower pay. Once illegal workers dominate a job segment, it's difficult for other workers to bargain for higher wages because they're afraid they'll just be replaced with an illegal. Again, wages remain low. This is why American workers have ceded so many low-skilled jobs (i.e. hotels, housekeeping, food industry) to immigrants.

I don't think we blame illegals for lower wages when it comes to certain skilled and semi-skilled jobs like roofing, painting, stone work, plaster and concrete, and hardscaping to name a few. In my own experience, many, if not most, of those jobs seem to be filled by Latinos who are here legally, love this country, and contribute in a positive way. Do they drive down the wage base for these jobs? Yes, because they'd rather work for a lower wage than not work at all. That's what separates them from American workers, whose work ethic vanishes below a certain pay point. I don't think the problem is that American workers can't get hired for those jobs. I think most simply don't want to compete for a job at a wage they consider to be inferior.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I was thinking, but I very much appreciate the thoughtful response. Thank you
